How Can severe Hip Pain After Hip Replacements Be Treated?
I had an echocardiogram done 5 months ago that ruled out congestive heart failure. I have had two hip replacements in the last year and a half. I take medicine for high blood pressure. I have been easily winded - just walking 50 feet or so, I ache in my hips and I am tired most of the time. Do you have any suggestions?
Since the echo ruled out heart failure, you may need a chest x ray to take a look at the lungs and also consider a blood test to rule out anemia (low blood count).
Anemia can also result in fatigue as well. A full blood count would determine if this is an issue and it should be combined with ESR, which is a marker of inflammation. It goes up with any underlying inflammation in the body, which can be due to infection, allergies, trauma, cancer, autoimmune diseases (lupus, rheumatoid arthritis)
I hope this helps
